Reunions

Class Reunions

Go Panthers!

After graduation, many of us went to college, got married, had our families, and some of us are now enjoying our grandchildren.  As years pass, a good way to catch up with our classmates is a class reunion.

Each year we try to locate each and every classmate; but even through our “Lost and Found” list, we still have not found everyone.  If you can help locate our missing classmates, please let us know.

Each 10-year class reunion is treated really special for the Delcambre High  Class of ’73.  Therefore, we try to plan an entire week of activities.  If you’re coming from out of town, this would allow you to attend several events and make the most of your trip.  Remember, we always make time to include our families on the last day!

10-Year Class Reunions

Below is a typical  example of what you might expect for our 10-year class reunions:

  • Alumni Float – We begin our Homecoming week by meeting and building our alumni float at one of our classmate’s home in Delcambre.  We usually meet several times this week in order to have the float built in time for the parade which is usually on the Thursday evening before the homecoming game.
  • Homecoming Parade – It usually begins at school and ends on the Shrimp Festival grounds.  Our class usually wears our Class of ’73 t-shirts, and we throw goodies to the crowd.
  • Homecoming Pep Rally & Bon Fire – The parade ends on the Shrimp Festival grounds where the pep rally and bon fire are  held.   There have been times that we just stay together after the pep rally and bon fire and ride the float for a few hours through Delcambre.
  • Open House and Alumni Tea – The school is usually open for visitation during specific hours on the day of homecoming for alumni to visit.  The alumni tea is usually held that afternoon/evening at Delcambre High School.
  • Homecoming Football Game – It is held on Friday night.   The alumni classes usually sit together in a specific section in the stadium designated for the Delcambre High alumni classes.
  • Afternoon Event – We normally plan an afternoon of activities which includes our families.  The guys normally BBQ and the women fix the trimming dishes.

New T-Shirts are usually again designed for our 10-year reunions.  They can be ordered through our contact form on this website.  The cost for the t-shirts will also be posted on our website and will be included in our mail-outs.  If you are from out-of-town, please consider joining us for a few days during that week.

5-Year Class Reunions

Due to recent hurricanes, we have not always made a float for our 5-year reunions; however, below is a typical example of what you might expect for our 5-year class reunions:

  • Alumni Float – We begin our week by meeting and building our alumni float at one of our classmate’s home in Delcambre.  We usually meet several times this week in order to have the float built in time for the homecoming parade which is usually on Thursday evening of homecoming week.
  • Homecoming Parade – The parade is normally held on Thursday evening.  The parade usually begins at school and ends on the Shrimp Festival grounds.  Our class usually wears our Class of ’73 t-Shirts for the parade and throw goodies to the crowd.
  • Homecoming Pep Rally & Bon Fire – The parade ends on the Shrimp Festival grounds where the pep rally and bon fire are  held.   There have been times that we just stay together after the pep rally and bon fire and ride the float for a few hours through Delcambre.
  • Homecoming Football Game – Held on Friday night.   You are on your own if you want to attend.

New T-Shirts are usually designed for our 5-year reunions also.  They can be ordered through our contact form on this website.  The cost for the t-shirts will also be posted on our website and will be included in our mail-outs.

1-Year Class Reunions

We’ve tried in past years to get together for a gathering during homecoming week either at a local restaurant or we rent a local hall and throw a small reunion which includes dinner and finger foods.
