Delcambre High School IMPROVEMENT in Iberia Parish is an ongoing process. All schools are required to write
Delcambre High School Improvement Plans in which schools specify areas in need of improvement and plan activities to improve in those areas. Currently, the Iberia Parish School System is in the process of implementing a data-driven decision making model to guide all schools in the school improvement process. School faculties formulate their own unique improvement plans, aligning instructional and organizational practices with student outcomes.
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction is charged with providing every child at Delcambre High School with a quality education based on sound principles of teaching and learning. The entire department considers the needs of the child to be the greatest priority.
The models being adapted for application are Reading First, Smaller Learning Communities, and Research-Based Instructional Strategies. Attention is being focused on a curriculum that prepares students for post-secondary pursuits. Delcambre High School provides students the opportunity to experience the world of work through internships, career-related activities, and classes that earn Industry-Based Certification, while earning university and technical college credit.
