What is a college interview with an alumni like?

I’m going to apply to Harvard and part of the Admissions process is an interview with an alumni.

How should i prepare?

I do interviews for Columbia Business School, so here’s my advice: Be very clear about your achievements and the goals you have (you don’t have to be entirely sure, but be articulate). You should also have good reasons WHY you want Harvard–that means knowing the college catalog very well–and be able to explain what YOU can contribute to the freshman class. Don’t talk to much or too fast.

And have some very good question to ask the person. They should NOT be questions about something available on the website! Think of some thoughtful questions about the school and the interviewer’s experience.

Good luck!
